Coveted Editorial Coverage

ASOS has chosen my most adored style icon, Olivia Palermo to cover their August 2010 issue. I will say, jaw has dropped to the table when I saw the cover and spreads. Loving the transitional issue into my favorite season with great fall style inspiration.

SO amazing it deserves its own post.
Let the drooling begin..

"Gleeked" Out
Only Matthew Williamson could develop such band-geek-meets-runway-chic trousers... minus the nerd and the braces...

The Naturalist
By far, this was my absolute
favorite look out of the other gorgeous spreads..

Loving the hooded cocoa leather trimmed camel tone poncho-cape hybrid.. a luxe tribute to the nomadic signature throw-over. Shimmery cracked leather shorts? Already been obsessed with since last fall.... Add some rock n' glam accessories and the look brings it back to the present day modernity...

City Escape
This maxi dress isn't your average flow of fabric... with a top built like a side zip motorcycle vest and a gradual cascade of flouncy chiffon, the look is refreshing looks is breezy bohemian with a touch of city edge. Who said maxi dresses  remind you of a vacation to an oceanside destination? Bustling streets and skyscraper buildings sound more like it...

Street Smart Style
Contrary to popular belief, Olivia is not a stranger to the All Star Chuck Taylors. I'm loving this lady like white jersey dress paired with a little touch of street with an old school favorite...

Brooklyn Princess
My second coveted look from the spread.. Loving the contrast in textures. Contrasting texture is one of the hottest looks to watch from Fall 2010. Peek the mechanic style gadget-geek jacket.. paired with a glittery hoodie... leopard print shorts and ankle booties. I love the unkempt swept-up do' for that edgy, rock n' roll princess feel...

City Explorer
A lace top-hat paired with a tough looking playsuit looks fabulous. But what really tops off this look is the unexpected accessories.. From lace on the head to shimmer tones in the flats... this adds some girly flair in contrast to the masculinity of the playsuit's detail...

Wrap it all up --July

Editorial Serving...
Images: JustJared, StarStyle

V.Beckham covering Turk Vogue's August 2010 issue. Did you check out those blingin' Christian Louboutins?

Black Lively featured in U.S. Vogue's August 2010 issue... wearing a Christopher Raeburn Parka from the AW 2010 collection..

What do you think about the Kardashian offspring aspiring model, Kendall Jenner? Spitting-image of a mini-me Khloe, minus the tough-as-nails mouth. I'm a huge fan of this ethnic look: fringe, trinkets, and into-the-wild untamed hair..

The Wrap Up...

Back-to-the-Basics: Forever Black & White...

Color is great, but we never forget to hold onto our origin: black and white. Two colors that are classic, crisp, clean, and live-on as immortals do. Dressed up, dressed down...Never old, always new...

Blake Lively at the Comic Con Premiere in sunny San Diego for Green Lantern. Rockin' a modernized, structured, low-cut neck panel top-and-bottom Preen ensemble. I love this look, especially the tailored, belted trousers.

Two peeves I have with Blake's this look:
1. Problem: the neckline drops too low it calls for a disaster waiting to happen (and doesn't look tasteful)
Solution: wearing a black laced demi underneath so it would peek out from underneath the top's neckline would be sexy, rather than skanky.

2. Problem: Dull monotone shoes
Solution: With such a basic black and white tone in the outfit, shoes with a little glitz' and glam... studs... chains... would spruce up the look rather than go with bland black and white striped heels.. they don't do it for me...

My Latest Obsession: Tailored, Belted Trousers:

Contrary to popular belief, anyone could achieve this look. Tailored trousers are meant to give you flexibility.. playing with your proportion. If vertically challenged mini-fashion icons like Ashley Olsen and Rachel Bilson could do it, you can. It's all about tailoring. Sure, purchasing a pair of trousers and having to take it to be tailored to your height seems like an extra step... but think of it this way: it will be a closet piece that will stick with you forever..

I purchased these trousers in black and khaki, and can't imagine the day I didn't have it.. My mother passed on some of her trousers from the 80's to me last year. Of course, I had to alter it... but nothing is more classic than a piece from the past..

NOTE: these are not "grandma" pants for those who don't understand the language of classic and chic!

How-to-Wear the Look Right: With tailored trousers that give a little extra wiggle room, one must keep in mind, it's all about balance and proportion. If your bottom is "poofier", make sure your top is more fitting. Same applies to the opposite concept: if you're wearing a looser blouse on top, wear form fitting skinnies or leggings underneath (no, I would not advise shorts or skirts with a free-flowing top: it'll only shorten your height and make you look wider than longer. Big no-no!) Therefore, when wearing these trousers, the top should either be a more form-fitting tucked-in top or a blouse or silky loose tank without too much puff so it can be tucked-in without the awkwardness in proportion..

Selena Gomez looking like ever-the-lady at the premiere of the film rendition of Beverly Cleary's classic story, Ramona & Beezus.

Rachel Bilson out in L.A. in a black textured ruffle-shoulder top cardigan paired with denim cut-offs a basic-white tee, Ray-Bans, and a Chanel handbag worn crossbody style.

Angelina Jolie at the premiere for her new film, Salt. Sure, her go-to color is always classic black.. but I really don't like seeing her in all over sequins. I'll give her credit for trying something new...However, it takes away the classic appeal adding a touch of tacky...

The Look: Models-Off Duty

Hearts have broken all over the world (minus mine) when Josh Hartnett walked out in public with his current flame, 20-year-old, Norwegian model, Sophia Lie. Regardless, I love her easy model-off-duty look...

One of my fav British models, Alexa Chung (left). [Yes, she's 1/2 Chinese] always has her own hold of how to make a look her own.. She's a master at bold matching of different color tones, textures, and proportions..

P.S.: Clearly you have to have enough attention brought to your style in order to be asked to personally redesign a Mulberry bag. The Mulberry Alexa bag has been the fashionista obsession as of late...

Of course, how can you speak of models-off-duty without mentioning the legendary Kate Moss. I love how she's bringing the fur-lined parka jacket out to play already with her PRPS Military Jacket... something that will evidently be back this fall..

Love, love, love this look: sprucing up the ol' plaid. I love the pairing with the granite grey skinnies and the white flat booties.. gives me a M. Jackson vibe..

Some Other Looks...

Rising star, Amanda Crew, is just recently premiering her movie with Zac Efron, Charlie St. Cloud in theaters. For a new actress, she already mastered a classy red carpet look of her own... Glitz', Glam, and still Girly.

Camilla Belle

Funny girl, Mila Kunis, filming Friends with Benefits with Justin Timberlake..

Rachel Bilson in a nautical inspired look, head-to-toe Vanessa Bruno at a dinner for the designer.

Rachel Bilson out in LA. Like I said before, dare to break free of the bounds of color tones. I love her mix-and-match of nude, black, and blues..

Twitter-me-Photo:

I'm loving these super oversized cat-eye sunglasses on Whitney Port..

Kristin Cavallari accepting a Trend-Setter of the year award..

Paris -- Fashion Week

Life happens. But fashion never waits...

I have been extremely overwhelmed with balancing full-time work this summer, classes & assignments (full-time student status), and keeping up to date with the fast-paced fashionable know for inspiration for the Scene's line... However, fashion waits for no one. And with Fashion Week in Paris, I must share some spotted star style that I can seem to look away from...

I absolutely adore Olivia Palermo's Parisian style in this porcelain dolll inspired Valentino frock. Romantic cream beige lace with delicate floral details and minimal frills and ruffles is a perfect concoction of "cute" mixed with Victorian sophistication. The pairing of the frilly number with the maroon pumps (she's constantly sporting) adds a rich and warm effect, complimenting her newly dyed chocolate brown tresses. And the clutch? Quaint and beautifully paired... I am sure by now readers can tell I find Olivia's taste to be admirable (given that she has an affluent number of appearances in my posts); crowning her one of my modern day fashion icons. Her impeccable style inspires my personal taste when it comes to my closet purchases and am greatly flattered when close friends think of me whenever they see of Olivia.

Palermo, not one to be unfamiliar with a haute Valentino gown looks refreshing in this whimsical, almost ocean-inspired gown featuring a perfect balance of bohemian meets old-Hollywood glamour. Look at the sheer icicle blue oversized-bow waist detail... o.m.g...

Spotted out on the streets of Paris...

Gossip Girl fav, Leighton Meester at the Chanel Haute Couture Show. All I can say is one word comes to mind with this tough-bad-girl couture getup: fierce.

Taking a more demure, soft-spoken California girl glam approach is Gossip Girl, Blake Lively. Her personal choice for the Chanel show almost seems like it's paying homage to her alter-ego character, Serena Van der Woodsen don't you think?

You know you've made it when you get front row seats at the Christian Dior show, seated by none other than, Vogue power woman, Anna Wintour. Um, jealous much? Also, spotted seated front row (but not as lucky as Ms. Lively), Jessica Alba. In... yes, a Christian Dior piece of course... but did you not peep those Dior Mary-Janes? Can't... stop... drooling...

Jessica Alba
at the Christian Dior show.. have you ever seen such an adorably sexy baby mama?

Claire Danes at the Armani show in of course, Armani Prive. The sherbet watercolor inspired number fits the blonde beauty like a glove. Delectable, youthful, yet still ever so so classy... if you're going to be in Paris, nothing beats donning a romantic look from head to toe..

In Other News in Paris...
look where the Gossip Girl cast has been spotted filming...

I haven't followed up with Gossip Girl since season 2, only getting a few bits of 411 here and there from some girlfriends, but I always keep my eyes peered for the style featured in snapped photos during filming. Of course the show had to make a run for Paris with the characters.. these sneak peek looks to the characters' wardrobes already looks amazingly fashion forward. I would take Leighton's (Blair) wardrobe any day over Blake's (Serena) for some reason.. It's so dynamic, up-and-coming, and fearless. Okay, one exception: that Tibi electric blue trouser get-up on Blake... Anyone find the glam rock city chic photo of Blake Lively (Serena) to be oddly... scaled? She towers over the crew!

Give me a day in little Ms. Waldorf's fashionably abundant lifestyle please... I dream of teetering bags on my arms like a Christmas tree...

Soccer-mom royalty, Victoria Beckham seen out and about in a Miu Miu Resort 2010 number. So adorable! Though, I still find these cute little dresses she's seen in a tad bit too cute for her. Not very age appropriate. I would love to see this on Kate Bosworth or Sienna Miller. Victoria seems to be more suitable for the tough chick fashion-forward-esque look...

This time, in London in a Marc by Marc Jacobs bow-print dress. Once again, too sweet to pair up with the Posh. Adore the dress but not for her. I can see this dress with more of a rough-around-the-edges English rose a la Kiera Knightley or even Rachel Bilson...

I had my eyes set on these Marni shoes from the Fall 2009 line forever and was on a never ending, relentless search to snag a pair... and I must say: When I say it's going to be mine, it is going to be mine. Loved them in pictures, love them in person. I can rest peacefully now...

Until next time...
