A Memorial to Remember.
(dress: Alexander Wang. Shoes and Purse: courtesy of Zooshoo.com)
Thought I would press the brakes a little this past Memorial weekend, but it was anything but. I went seaside to Laguna Beach for a zen-ful brunch, Beverly Hills wayward to the Peninsula for my sister's afternoon tea with her closest gal pals, and even off to the land of cow-stench in Corona for a relaxing and fun night hanging with the gang over poker, UFC, spaghetti, and wine. Dressed up, dressed down and it seemed like the weekend was bustling nonstop. This is the life of a chameleon who dresses prepared for the company it keeps.
However, a weekend isn't a relaxing weekend without a hearty brunch downtown on a warm Sunday afternoon. I could've sworn I heard birds chirping louder then the honking of cars. A debriefing session with a pal was in session. What better place to blabber about all things current than a favorite quiet spot of mine, Larchmont Bungalow. One order of lobster benedict. One order of a long craved breakfast burrito. And two happy campers dilly-dallied off wandering about a small street of tempting stores that attempted to lure me in. Luckily for my morning burrito, I was experiencing extreme food coma that was the cure to the shopping itch.
(Some photos of what I wore to the afternoon tea party) I was in the mood for something soft yet structured with a dash of an edge. Sure the tunic was the color of a Tiffany's box, but I thoroughly enjoyed playing around with different tones of yellows mixed with a brisk white. For some reason, it felt quite refreshing. Just as refreshing was getting the honor of meeting the cutest baby on the planet, Chrystin! I felt like a baby holding a baby given that at the instant, I got booted to be the second youngest lady at the table!
Cheers to a productive weekend full of love and happiness!

Serving Size: 2 Doses, 4 Ways
Give me one taste and I seem to want more. One pair in one color is never enough when you find a shoe that seems to magically make everything you wear look twice as fabulous. So flattering in fact that I had to get my hands on two. Need a bonus on top of that? From the moment I slipped these babies on I felt how ridiculously comfortable they were. So comfortable I knew I was able to make a good run in these.
Naturally of course, my multi-tasking noggin' already subconsciously delegated each colored pair to serve a different function. You know that feeling of relief when leggings were back? That feeling of anxiety you get in the morning from rummaging through your ocean thick pile of clothes trying to find the right bottoms to wear. That anxiety seemed to flush away the moment leggings seemed to make everything work out in the end. Well, I think I have found the holy grail of shoes. The leggings to my feet. So easy to pair with a multitude of closet combinations. Call me dramatic if you may, but hey -- feet don't lie.
TAUPE: Taupe seemed to be even more flattering when wearing shorts or dresses for obvious reasons. The son tone color of these sky-high platforms acted as an add-on extension to further "lengthen" my legs.
BLACK: At first sight, I knew for certain. These buttery-soft, black platforms would be just as flattering. But its specialty? Paired with my staple basic leggings, liquid leggings, or simple skinnies, the black heels would help me reach model heights, blending easily into my closet staples.
A new love affair has begun and I don't think we'll be parting anytime soon...
Wanna take one out for a test run? Click the photo above for the direct link. Equally as nice? These new favorites of mine are set at a ridiculously affordable price.

Telegram: The Secret Sneakers That Flatter Just As Well As Heels
Hop-Skip Over to Zooshoo's Tumblr! This week, I'm dissipating your fears and concerns with sneakers.
Why did we turn our backs away from sneakers in the first place?
Sure, the rubber flat soles are comfy and convenient, but:
a) they don’t always seem to go with our thoroughly thought-out attire for the day
b) they seem to “stumpify” our legs
A Common Concern: Wearing sneakers tend to make our legs look shorter. How so? Aside from the obvious factor of lacking a heel to give us that extra towering boost, our insecurities with our non-stick-thin calves seem to tower over our self-esteem.
Want the Cure? Make the jump!

Decaffeinated life
Since my health scare and post check up, lots of the food luxuries I've enjoyed on a daily basis were crossed off on the "armed and dangerous" list. Coffee. Spicy goodness. Bread. Pasta. My days have been dragging without these extra boosts. Let's hope they skip along faster soon.
